‘The Avengers’ claims 4th biggest at Indian BO


Marvel’s ‘The Avengers‘ has become the 4th highest grosser of All Time amongst Hollywood films in India. It has already collected Rs.47 crores Net at the Indian Box Office and is still running to packed houses. ‘The Avengers’, which was released in India on 27th April 2012, a one week prior to its US release, is the widest release ever for a Hollywood movie in India, across over 800 screens in 3D, IMAX and 2D; and in 4 languages – English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.

Internationally, Marvel’s ‘The Avengers’ has joined the Billion Dollar Box Office club in just 19 days, becoming the first Marvel Studios film and the fifth Walt Disney Studios release to reach this important milestone. Based on its current trajectory, it is slated to be the 3rd highest grossing movie of All Time by the end of its run, with only Avatar and Titanic ahead of it.

Marvel’s ‘The Avengers’ is the first Marvel Studios film to be marketed and distributed by UTV Motion Pictures in India.
