Tvm: Techmach3 Technologies, an IT and Technology consulting services firm with a focus on Software development, offshore voice and non-voice BPO services, based in Technopark, Trivandrum has played havoc with the career of several of its employees. Two days back, 36 of the 50 odd employees of the company were sacked without prior notice. The trouble started when these employees, who were not paid their salary, filed a complaint at the nearest Police Station.

The employees had also lodged a complaint with the Labour Commissioner and petitioned the State Labour Minister, Shri Shibu Baby John, alleging ill-treatment and refusal to pay minimum wages. Techmach3 Technologies started functioning out of the Leela Infopark building in the Technopark campus, about two months back. The employees who were selected in January had joined the Company in April only.

According to Labour Commissioner, T Antony, “Techmach3 Technologies is found to have flouted all labour laws. The company was not registered under the Shops and Commercial Establishments Act (1960) and was found violating rules under Minimum Wages Act (1948), Payment of Wages Act (1936) and the Maternity Benefit Act (1961). The mandatory register of employees or the approval to maintain electronic data was also not found.” The Company management has been asked to appear before the commission on June 13.

On Wednesday, the employees who questioned the delay in disburse the salary were barred from entering the office premises. After sacking them, a list with their photos was circulated in Technopark, which apparently ‘blacklisted’ them from applying in other companies inside the campus. in the meantime, the company officials are said to have fled the premises as soon as the news came out.

Based on the complaints, a meeting at the Labour Commissioner’s office yesterday failed to resolve the issue between the management and the employees. Another meeting to break the deadlock is now scheduled for Monday.

Meanwhile, according of the Leela Infopark Officials, the company offices are open and working today. The Technopark CEO has called the Techmach3 management for a meeting today.
