In his address, the Chief Minister said the State was yet to tap the full potential of ICT enabled education and promised the government’s support for IT education and IT related development in schools. “Although we lead the country in literacy, we missed the IT revolution because of the opposition to computerisation and IT implementation. But we cannot afford to do that now. IT educated youths should be job creators and not job seekers. The mindset of people should change and students should be encouraged to be entrepreneurs”, he added.
In his address, the IT Minister said that the IT fest was a platform for the students to use and showcase IT as a tool for education and development.
About 500 students from across the State, who were the first and second prize winners of the District level school IT Mela, participated in the State School IT Mela 2013. The IT@School team organised the IT Fest for the General Education Department.
