Reflections
Prologue
Underneath a star-studded sky,
Calm, quiet and serene,
I waked through a thick forest
And reached a placid stream.
I was all that I saw,
Life was happily essayed in reflections!
The incident
Humans are a curious lot,
They race to stars and even for a speck.
All their start and finish line; the same,
They are but one yet revenge they behold,
Stones and blades, hatred and un-kindness,
They treat each other such, I know not why!
I was not broken by the object they wielded,
My purpose was shattered by their devilish act;
Blood upon their hands, their own I would say,
They came to me, relished their own reflections of death!
Who am I?
I am a mirror; spotless.
All that you see in me,
All that I am and I be,
Is nothing more than you
And all that you project.
Devoid of darkness, I stage light and reflections!
Romance
Thus I was broken, stayed such
Until my bonnie lass walked in.
Oh! she caressed me and cured me,
Pieces and shards, she healed me.
I became beauty thus, epics and poems,
Unusual it was for she saw me
And not mere images, not reflections.
Needless to say that I looked at her;
I saw me, I saw her, nothing else was seen
The end; Time took her away and all our reflections!
Reflections
I am a mirror,
I cease not to be.
Complete or in pieces,
I long and yearn to reflect.
As long as light lives,
There will be reflections!
