Update on Prepaid auto counter @Technoaprk

There has been a strong demand from the employees of Technopark Trivandrum for a ‘Pre-paid auto counter’ inside the Park. Prathidhwani, socio-cultural organization of Technopark employees, was in the forefront of making sure these demands reach the right places and ensuring that effective measures are being taken at various levels towards achieving this long standing request. As part of our continued efforts we were able to hold a second formal meeting with Honorable Mayor of Trivandrum Corporation last week at Park Center. Hon Mayor Adv. K Chandrika, Technopark Senior Manager M Vasudevan, Corporation standing committee Chairman Padmakumar, Asst. Commissioner Traffic, Revenue Officials, Executive Engineer Sri. Jayachandran, Bijumon (President, Prathidhwani) and Rajeev Krishnan (Secretary, Prathidhwani) attended the meeting held in 28th February 2014, at Park Centre, Technopark. The previous meeting was held at the Corporation Office in March 2013.   The recent meeting decided to initiate the processes for Pre-Paid Auto counter as soon as possible. Prathidhwani is happy to share the details of major decisions from the meeting. 1.       It was decided that Circle Inspector of Police, Kazhakoottam will be the nodal officer in charge for the pre-paid auto counter. 2.       Executive Engineer, Of Trivandrum Corporation will make a detailed work estimate of the project. Meeting has requested Prathidhwani’s help with sharing our ideas and details to get this done as early as possible. 3.       Once the above estimate gets approved by State Bank of India, work will immediately commence. Mayor and other attendees of meeting visited the proposed site for prepaid auto counter. As always, Prathidhwani will continue to track the progress of these activities and will keep you posted through our website. We are hopeful of getting this pre-paid auto functional before May of this year. [caption id="attachment_4328" width='440' align="aligncenter" ] Image removed. Circle Inspector Kazhakoottam http://www.prathidhwani.org/campaign/ One of the important suggestions that came up from the employees was this pre-paid auto counter. March 2013   Hon Mayor Adv K Chandrika conducted a meeting at Mayor’s Chamber at Corporation Office for discussing the suggestions given by Prathidhwani. Police officials, representatives of Technopark, National Highway authority, Traffic police and Auto rickshaw union leaders and Prathidhwani representative ( Zafer A M) were present in this meeting. Girish Babu and Senior Manager Sri. M Vasudevan and discussed about Pre Paid auto request.  Sri. Girish Babu suggested us to find a place just outside the Technopark. We suggested a place near to the bypass gate and Vasudevan Sir visited the place and gave a green signal for allotting the space for counter. It was also agreed for providing free electricity and water for its operations. July 2013 We approached the police authority again for taking the next step. We met City Police Commissioner P Vijayan and ADGP Hemachandran twice for taking initiatives. Initially we faced some technical difficulties related to Kazhakoottam not being under the City Traffic Police even though it is under Corporation. The law and order in-charge for this area is the DYSP office Attingal. So we met Attingal DYSP and CI of Kazhakooottam Sri. Vinod and they ensured us their support. Aug – Sep 2013 Again we got in touch with Hon Mayor and Corporation office for other facilities related to the counter. Mayor directed us to City Traffic Circle inspector Sri. Satheesh.  Sri.Satheesh visited the proposed pre-paid auto place along with Vasudevan Sir. He suggested us to prepare a design and find out a sponsor for pre-paid auto.  The sponsor has to fund the construction of the counter as well as sand filling for auto rickshaw stand. 1.      We approached SBI Technopark manager Sri Jose and he said he will check the possibility of sponsoring the pre paid auto counter 2.      We prepared a few designs and submitted to Sri Satheesh, Sri Jose and Sri Vasudevan 3.      Technopark came up with a rough estimate for pre-paid auto counter Nov 2013 Software for Pre-paid counter: Prathidhwani decided to prepare a software for pre-paid auto as well as taxi counter. Prathidhwani formed a software team lead by Bijumon (Vanila Networks), Rajith V P (NEST), Jiji ( Allainz ) and Aravind (NEST) and they studied the requirements by visiting similar prepaid counters in the city and developed an initial version of the software for auto- taxi counter. Dec 2013 We met ADGP Hemachandran again on this. He directed Circle Inspector to take care on this. We met Circle Inspector and he visited the proposed place and talked to auto rickshaw drivers unofficially. We talked to SBI several times and finally Sri Jose told us that they need a detailed estimate from the implementing authority. Jan 2014 We met Hon Mayor and requested to convene a meeting exclusively for prepaid auto in Technopark to speed up the activities. She agreed to conduct the meeting in Technopark and she told us prepaid auto counter will be implemented in 10 other places as well in Trivandrum city. She told a pre-paid auto counter is being planned at Kochu Veli, which will also be helpful for Technopark employees.
