The Technopark campus in Thiruvananthapuram, home to 250 companies employing 32,000 IT professionals, achieved a turnover of Rs.2,000 crore and export earnings of Rs.1,977.32 crore in 2010-11.This was revealed in the Economic Review 2011.
The IT exports from Technopark represent an increase of Rs.592.32 crore over the year 2009-10 when the figure was Rs.1,385 crore.Spread over 326.54 acres, the campus today has a total built up area of 30,81,500 sq.ft. occupied by industrial modules and 98,17,400 sq.ft. in the Special Economic Zone, apart from 1,78,850 sq.ft. for support facilities. The government has invested Rs.2,100 crore during 2010-11 and 2011-12 to develop additional infrastructure required for Technopark, the document reveals.
